Hercules Unchained (1959)

Italian-French mythological adventure from 1959 (original title Ercole e la regina di Lidia), the sequel to Hercules, again directed by Pietro Francisci and produced by Lux Film and Galatea Film. Steve Reeves (Mr. America 1947, Mr. Universe 1950) returns as Hercules: back in Thebes he walks into a civil war between two brothers, drinks from the waters of forgetfulness and is kept at the court of Queen Omphale of Lydia (Sylvia Lopez). This copy is the English-dubbed version on the Internet Archive (640×480, about 96 minutes), marked public domain by its uploader. Under Article 23 of China's Copyright Law and Section 22 of Malaysia's Copyright Act 1987 the film entered the public domain 50 years after first publication; its US renewal status has not been verified and it will be taken down on receipt of a rights objection.
